Why, because it is the greatest secret in all ventures!
In the Greatest Salesman in the World written by Og Mandino the scroll II tells us that we should Greet the day with love in our heart. Reading those words does not really mean a whole lot until you think about the words and once you think about the words you realize how deep they really are.
When I awaken every morning I have so many things to truly be thankful for yet I chose for so many years to take for granted I would awaken daily. Well, I hate to be the one to deliver the news to you….the day is promised to no one. Just ask all those spirits that thought they would once again awaken in the physical body that they were housed in, that were not given the thing they too took for granted. What Is that old saying; we don’t miss something until it is gone. I am thankful that I am given the opportunity to see another day, this day, and compose this entry in my blog.
If I must be a slave to a habit let me be slave to good habit!
As I was instructed I chose to write this as my reference to scroll I. I am elated that I chose these words because of what scroll II says. Now I can enthusiastically and passionately express my appreciation for this day. This gift that is given to me to love. For so many years that word was tucked away or should I say safely stored away for special occasions. After I read the scroll marked II several times I understood the significance and importance of what it was saying, untuck your feelings and start to really live life. Who cares about what others perceive, it is not my reality. This was so liberating yet empowering to me, L.O.V.E.
And most of all.
I will love myself. This right here brought tears to mine eyes. For so many years I thought it was everyone else’s responsibility to love me but me. I bought I had to get it the good old fashion way, I had to earn it. So I did what I thought any one in need of love would do, I would perform whatever feat was necessary to obtain it. Now, because I have given myself permission to love me, I actually L.O.V.E. me. The most beautiful part for me is, if I love me then greeting my day with love is so much easier. How can I give that which I do not have? Can’t! With loving me first, I can!
